On July 13 and 14, the University of Bologna (UNIBO), our project coordinator, welcomed BIObec partners in Bologna, Italy for the 1st face-to-face meeting.
The plenary meeting was divided into two days to have fruitful discussions and interactions on the different topics that needed to be discussed.
On the first day, Davide Viaggi, from UNIBO presented the agenda to be followed and introduced the consortium and team members. After this brief presentation, Lina Mayorga from the University of Hohenheim (UHOH) and Aleix Barrera from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), shared the results and lessons learned on regional bioeconomy ecosystem needs.
Feasibility and sustainability assessments, operational models, and rollout and replication of the Bio-based Education Centres (BBECs) were key aspects discussed during the presentations of Helena Mc Mahon from Munster Technological University (MTU), Knud Tybirk from Food & Bio Cluster Denmark (FBCD) and María García from Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), which also counted with the participation of several partners as UNIBO, the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), and Sustainable Innovations (SIE).
Davide closed the 1st session with an update on the Implementation and Replication Working Groups (IRWG) and future needs.
For the 2nd day, after a wrap-up of previous sessions, Jeisel Goyanes from SIE and Susanna Albertini from FVA went through the actions developed and planned for the dissemination and communication of project status and results as well as the activities that will be carried out for the stakeholder engagement.
Diletta Rizzolo, from UNIBO, was in charge of presenting the activities related to project coordination and management before Davide Viaggi closed the meeting with final remarks on the upcoming activities.
